My K Cup Review

So, I got to visit the mainland today and where was the first place that I stopped? Dunkin Donuts of course! We had to travel about 45 minutes to get to the first store our our route to Bangor, but it was well worth the wait. I ordered my usual large and black. The wife had her usual medium hazelnut with skim milk and 4 Splenda.

We also snagged a case of original blend and hazelnut coffee to take back to the island for our Keurig coffee machine. I have to say, we probably should have grabbed 3 cases of each in hind sight.

Christmas shopping went well, and the coffee was superb as usual. We spent just a little more money than we had anticipated, but hey, it is Christmas after all.

After a wonderful morning and afternoon of shopping from store to store we hit another Dunkin Donuts for some coffee for the trip home. I don’t usually have regular strength past 5:00 PM, but the long drive home to the island usually warrants a small dose to keep my eyes open.

The next morning I set the alarm for 6:00 AM, to get the kids ready for school and enthusiastically hit the power switch on my Keurig. I have to say, the smell of Dunkin Donuts Coffee brewing in my own home is almost as good as taking the first sip. There is nothing like it in the world.

Here’s the set up:

I was not surprised at all by the familiar rich taste I got straight out of the Keurig. It was simply amazing. I know that a lot of people say that the flavor isn’t quite the same when you buy the pound coffee from the store. I’ve been drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee from the pound sized bags from the grocery store for years, and I have to say that there’s no real difference between straight from the K Cup, the pound of coffee bags from the stores, and fresh brewed from Dunkin Donuts.

If anyone says that the flavor isn’t quite right, they may have just gotten an older batch, or they didn’t reseal the coffee bag right. Anyway, with K Cups being properly sealed they don’t typically get that “old coffee” taste (at least, not at the rate that I drink coffee rofl). It’s simply amazing. I just wish that Dunkin Donuts would let us order it online so we don’t have to travel to the mainland to get it.
